Craft Time

Good news, I officially signed my teaching contract this past week! I am officially a 2nd grade teacher now, and am so very excited! This weekend I have been busy creating things for my classroom and getting it all laminated and cut out. It was exhausting! Here are some of the things I created!

My bucket fillers chart! I plan to later add a picture of a bucket with each kiddo's name on it for the to add notes into. I really love the bucket fillers idea and can't wait to use it in my classroom.
This is one of the things I was most excited to make! I love that each child will have their own job. I am going to add a popsicle stick with a monkey attached with each child's name on it, so they can know which job is theirs.
My handy dandy conduct chart! My cooperating teacher during student teaching used something similar and it worked really well, so I duplicated it! :) But of course, added my own touch of animal print. My poor students are either going to love or hate animal print by the end of the school year.. haha!

Each day gets closer to my first day in the classroom and I can't wait to start teaching!

Let me know if you have any advice for a first year teacher! I'd love to hear it all :)

A Teacher's Toolbox!

Well I finally got around to making something for my classroom that I have been meaning to do for months. I saw this on pinterest and instantly fell in love. I love to be organized so of course this was right up my alley! I can't wait to fill it with all of my supplies!

I got the "tool box" part from Lowe's for about $16 (can't beat that!) and the paper and such from Hobby Lobby. It only took like 30-40 mins to make, so I feel like every teacher out there needs one! lol

So here it is!

I still have so much more to do before August and am excited to get started!

Until Next Time,

My first blog!

Hello! This is my very first blog - ever! :)

I am so excited to become part of the teacher blogging community. (I've been an observer for months and figured it was time I finally got my own.. lol) But anyways I just found out a few days ago that I will be a second grade teacher this upcoming school year! I am so ecstatic that I will finally get to have my own classroom, but I'm just as nervous that everything won't turn out alright. This blog will be chronicling my journey from purchasing things for my class and actually filling it with my future students. I hope I am able to look back on this blog later with the ability to reflect and grow.

That is all for now.

Until then,
